Prayer

Text : Matthew 6:5-9

Prayer can be corporate e.g. Deut 12: when Moses was praying for Joshua or individual

(solitary) prayer.

Jesus taught His disciples on how to pray

• to avoid public show

• not to be hypocritical

• to avoid babbling

• pray in secret

• God knows what you need before you ask Him

He taught them the Lord's prayer which has 3 parts

1. Verse 9-10.....God's name, His nature, His kingdom

2. Verse 11-13...Our requests

3. Verse 14-15....How to worship God

God is our father. He's a father to all of us. He's available everywhere, anytime. He's a

Holy God. He's a King. We're princes and princesses. We ought to behave such in actions, words

and deeds. That way, God's kingdom will be among men on earth. His will is supreme. His will is good.
